I'm new to IOSH, where would you recommend I start?
Finding out which IOSH course is right for you will depend on your job role. If you are a manager, supervisor or team leader, or if you are in any way responsible for the safety of others at work, the IOSH Managing Safely course is recommended.
For other employees and interested parties, IOSH Working Safely provides a manageable overview of safety in the workplace.
What are the differences between IOSH Working Safely and IOSH Managing Safely?
The IOSH Working Safely qualification is suitable for all workers and is completed through a one-day course in the classroom or typically takes three hours of online study.
The IOSH Managing Safely course takes place over three days in the classroom, or typically 8 - 12 hours of online study, and is designed for those responsible for the safety and well-being of one or more person in the workplace.
What are the different levels of membership for IOSH certification?
There are various ways to gain membership of IOSH. Completing a Diploma-level IOSH course provides membership; you can read more about this on the IOSH membership page. It is also possible to become an Affiliate Member of IOSH without completing a Diploma, through the payment of a fee.
How much does an IOSH course cost?

How is my IOSH training assessed?
The IOSH training courses are assessed in different ways. The IOSH Working Safely course is assessed through multi-format questions as well as a multiple-choice hazard-spotting exercise. The Managing Safely qualification is assessed through questions and an interactive quiz.
Learners will also need to complete a practical exercise based on the operations of a real business.
What study materials do I need for my IOSH courses?
You do not need to supply your own study materials for your IOSH course.
Learners doing the online course will be provided with all the necessary information online, while those doing the classroom-based course will be provided with the appropriate learning materials.
