IOSH Working Safely covers the essentials of health and safety in the workplace. Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, students are awarded an IOSH Working Safely certificate from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the world’s largest professional health and safety membership organisation.

Who this course is for
It is aimed at all workers in all types of organisations.
Course syllabus
Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to:
- Identify why it is important to work safely
- Identify everyone’s responsibilities in relation to health, safety and well-being in the workplace
- Define key terms in health and safety
- Identify workplace hazards and risks, their impact and how to control them
- Identify ways in which health, safety and wellbeing are managed and improved within the workplace.
Learning modules
The course is divided into four modules:
- Introducing working safely
- Defining hazard and risk
- Identifying common hazards
- Improving safety performance.
Assessments information
Assessment depends on how you choose to study.
If you study in the classroom the multiple-choice examination and hazard spotting exercise are completed at the end of the course.
If you study online, the course and assessment must be completed within five months of registration.
